Guitar Tuner

When you turn a tuning peg clockwise, it makes the pitch lower. When you turn a tuning peg counter-clockwise it makes the pitch higher. Be careful, however, not to tune the strings too high; this could result in breakage.
USING THE ONSCREEN TUNER:
Hover your mouse over each string letter on the screen and click the virtual string. Listen to the sound, and match each of your guitar's strings to its respective pitch. Before you begin, however, make sure your strings are properly wound around the tuning pegs. On guitars with all six tuning pegs on the same side of the headstock, make sure the strings are all wound the same way - from the inside out. Many guitars have three-on-a-side tuning pegs. They should go from outside to inside (see picture).
